The Southern hemisphere’s first all-electric high performance passenger ferry is launched.
Built by WEBBCo, this 19m 20 knot energy-efficient electric carbon-fibre catamaran carries up to 132 passengers on its Queen’s Wharf to Days Bay route across Wellington Harbour in New Zealand.
She is capable of an ultra-fast charging time of 15 mins and a return distance between charges of 25km, with zero operating emissions and significantly lower operating and maintenance costs than standard diesel ferries of the same size and speed.
